What is an Online Payment Gateway?

A Payment Gateway allows an organisation to facilitate online payments through their website. It provides the ability for members to purchase items such as annual registration or team fees, competition entry fees or merchandise through secure online credit card transactions.

There are two components to the online registration & payment process:

  1. The first is the Registration Form, which is the interface for entering member details and selecting items to purchase.

The Registration Form module sits within a client’s Sportzware Online Membership database. The client customises their form and adds it to their website. When a member completes a new registration through the Registration Form, their record is added to the client’s Sportzware Membership Database. The client can view and manage transactional and payment information through the Sportzware Membership Database, and a Member can log into their account to update their personal details and make new purchases.

  2. The second component is the Online Payment Gateway, for making a purchase via credit card.

After selecting an item to purchase on the Registration Form, the member is taken to the Online Payment Gateway to enter their credit card details. The Online Credit Card Gateway is provided by a third party (the Sportzware Registration form integrates with SecurePay and Netregistry payment gateways).
